The book that I did was "Tracking Trash", so I'm going to reflect on the book, "How Sugar Changed the World", by Marc Aronson. The book, "How Sugar changed the world", caught my attention because it tells us how expensive sugar was back then. Sugar was so expensive that slaves were involved. Slaves were bought and sold to work from farms to factories. They would work, until death. Sugar was basically a White Gold Rush. Slaves were used like machines. Sugar Canes started greed by marking up the price. The Overseer watch the slaves to make sure they're working. If you get your hand stuck in the sugar grinder, your only way on existing is to cut your hand off with the knife. The slaves tried to let us to hear their voices, but their was a consequence. The consequence was to beaten and starve, so they know to not do it.
The slaves were terrified to argue with the Overseer. Their was no freedom for the slaves. Honey was driven out by Sugar. 2 slaves made it to the land of France. Madame Villanueve, if I recall, escaped the prison and demanded for her property back. She left Pauline with a monastery. Slave owners were fighting back though. All the men were equal though. Their was Cheap Sugar that everyone wanted. Slaves were equal. Equal to all french men. Chinese workers were not paid, but were also not slaves. When Japanese men started to get paid, Japanese woman joined them. The Sugar workers in Hawaii were not slaves. Sugar Cane and Cane Sugar are the same. During our field trip in the Huntington Museum, my tour guide showed us the two paintings in the Huntington's house. A painting called, Little Blue Boy and the painting across from that which was called Pinkie. The painting, Little Blue Boy, was a challenge that the artist, Thomas Gainsborough, made with strokes and diagonals of Blue paint, which was expensive back in the days. In the painting, an x-ray shows a small-shaped moon slightly on top of the boy's head and a dog in the bottom right corner, which is painted over rocks. The painting, Pinkie, made by Thomas Lawrence, was for a Grandma. The Grandma was going to miss her granddaughter, so she asked someone to paint a picture of her granddaughter to remember her. The painting became popular and I forgot why. Either the Granddaughter or the Grandma died from tuberculosis. The painting, Sarah Siddons as the Tragic Muse, by Joshua Reynolds was another painting that was shown. This painting had 2 people in the background as the drama actor, Sarah Siddons, was sitting on a chair with the two people behind with a dagger that has blood on the tip and something that looked like a trophy. When you look in the middle of the painting, which is Sarah Siddons, her arms would led to the two people behind her. One of those two people is a symbol of terror and I forgot the other persons symbol.
The story, Harrison Bergeron, by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., took place in April in the 2081. 2081 was a world that needed to be equal. Harrison was taken away from his parents and is now fourteen years old. Harrison's parents, George and Hazel, don't remember their son. Since, everyone has to be equal, George has to wear a handicap because he was smarter than Hazel. George also had to wear 40 pounds because he was stronger than Hazel. Diana Moon Glampers is the handicapper general. Their was an announcement from that is said from the graceful ballerina, who had to wear a hideous mask because of her beauty and have 400 pounds as heavy as a man. The announcement explained how Harrison Bergeron escaped jail. Harrison is a 7 foot man at the age of 14. He can break through anything that they weigh on him. He wanted to be an emperor, so he searched for an empress. Someone that dared to stand up and become his empress. A ballerina stood up on her feet and danced like a willow. Harrison took off her handicap and started to dance. He took the handicaps off of the musicians, so they can have a beautiful dance. Diana Moon Glampers came in with a gun and shot the both of them. Hazel was crying, but didn't know why and George was grabbing beer when Harrison was shot. George and Hazel sat on the couch like nothing ever happened after Harrison died right in front of them.

The Greek view resembles the contemporary view in that they both have Europe and Asia. Additionally, the views are similar because even though one is flat and one is round, they have the same countries. However, the Greek view is not the same as the contemporary view because the Greeks believed their world is flat, while the contemporary world thinks their world is round. The Greeks also thought they have one continent, while The Modern View has seven continent. And that’s why, even though these views are similar to each other, they are different in important ways.
